Google Assistant on Android and iOS can now set daily reminders for weather updates, quotes and more
The feature allows users to set daily subscriptions or reminders for services such as weather updates, facts and more
The Google Assistant was recently updated with a new feature which enables it to recognise songs playing nearby. Now, the company has added another subscription-based feature to it, which allows the intelligent AI assistant to send daily weather updates, quotes and more.
The Google Assistant was capable of adding subscriptions within the Allo app and the feature is now being rolled out to all Android and iOS users of the AI helper.
A user can now ask the Google Assistant to send weather updates, a fun fact, or a quote every day at the same time. In order to set a subscription, a user needs to launch the Google Assistant and say or type the update they want. The commands include:
- Send me weather everyday
- Send me a poem everyday
- Send me a quote everyday
- Send me a funny video everyday
- Send me a fun fact everyday
- Send me a mindfulness tip everyday
After this, the assistant will ask if the user wants to receive this info everyday and tapping Yes sets a subscription. Users then need to choose a time to receive the daily update. To see a list of all the daily subscriptions, users can just say “See my daily updates” or ask/type “What are my subscriptions?”.
A subscription can also be cancelled at any time by asking for the list of daily updates and tapping on the edit option to cancel it.
