Updated on 12-Jan-2012

Google has partnered with O-Zone Networks, a Wi-Fi hotspot provider in India, to launch a promotional program for two of its products, across the country. Starting from this weekend, users from all over India will be able to access Google and YouTube for free for the next three months, when using Wi-Fi enabled devices in O-Zone hotspots.

Specifically, Wi-Fi users in O-Zone hotspots will get 10 minutes per week of YouTube videos, including exclusive movie clips and promotional videos. The idea is to encourage mobile internet usage, with many consumers in the country toting Wi-Fi enabled mobile devices.

O-Zone Networks boasts of providing Wi-Fi services for a large spread of popular establishments in India, such as Café Coffee Day, Café Oz, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Costa Coffee, McDonalds, OM Bookshop and Subway, as well as a variety of shopping centres, hotels, and other buildings, such as those managed by Ansal Group, DLF, Fortis, Oberoi-Trident hotels and Radisson group. Visit O-Zone Networks’ list of hotspots for more information

Commenting on the new promotional campaign, Sanjeev (Bobby) Sarin, CEO, O-Zone Networks, said:

“This association between Google India and O-Zone Networks reinforces the fact that people are now realizing the power of Wi-Fi. We aim to provide a good internet surfing experience to the customers. With India being the fastest growing internet market in the world, people are very conscious of the content they view online. This will enable them to enjoy Google and YouTube free of cost at any of our hotspots.”
