Twist Mobile plans to show the Bhasam Aarti at the Mahakaal Temple during the kumbh Mela at Ujjain via Cardboard VR headsets
Pilgrims at the upcoming Kumbh Mela in Ujjain may soon be able to offer aarti via virtual reality. According to a report by the Times of India, Twist Mobile has introduced its Mahakumbh Cardboard Headset, that will provide 360 degree videos of the event. The company plans to set up 5000 units of the headset at shops in Ujjain, and will offer pilgrims the change to witness Bhasam Aarti at the Mahakaal Temple.
The company states, “At the Kumbh Mela, all pilgrims would want to see the Mahakaal temple and witness Bhasam Aarti in it. However, only 150 people per day are allowed during the Bhasam Aarti. While TVs will be installed across Kumbh Mela, they are not capable of providing an immersive experience.” An app called ‘TMVR-VR of India’ is available for free on Google Play and users with VR headsets like Google Cardboard can download it and watch the aarti. The Kumbh Mela at Ujjain will be held between April 22 and May 21.
