Game of Thrones has become the most-pirated TV show... Again.

The final episode of season 4 of Game of Thrones, called "The Children," has broken all the piracy records after being downloaded by over 1.5 million "file-sharers" in first 12 hours after being put up on torrent sites.

The popularity of TV series Game of Thrones is clearly reflected through the pirated copies of its episodes that are being shared through torrent sites. As the season finale of season 4 aired on the television last Sunday, traffic on file-sharing websites kicked up as soon as the final episode was put up on torrent sites.

The finale episode named as "The Children" created a new piracy record according to TorrentFreak. The episode had almost a quarter million people sharing a single file at the same time. Right after the episode finished airing, the pirated copy of the show had almost 1.5 million file-sharers downloading the episode in the first 12 hours after its seeding started.

Season 4 of Game of Thrones has been the most popular in terms of most-views whether on TV or on torrent sites. The final episode broke the record of a previous episode of the same series when it registered more than 200,000 people sharing the file at the same time. Such an event has occurred for the first time in file-sharing history. The Demonii tracker reported that 254,114 people were sharing the episode at the same time among whom 190,701 were sharing a complete copy (seeds) while 63,413 were still downloading.

Once again in this year, Game of Thrones wins the crown of the most-pirated show of the year again. Earlier the episode 2 of the same season called "The Lion and the Rose" had created the record for the most pirated TV show on the internet.

HBO, which produces the TV series has never been too concerned about the piracy of this show. CEO of Time Warner (HBO's parent company) Jeff Bewkes has previously said that piracy has resulted in more subscriptions for his company and the receiving the title of "most-pirated" show was "better than an Emmy."
