Foldable iPhone, iPad and Mac: This is what Apple’s 2026 product line-up may look like
For a long time now, we have been hearing a lot about the potential foldable iPhone.
Apple is reportedly preparing to launch two foldable devices in 2026: a foldable iPhone and an iPad/Mac hybrid.
The iPad/Mac hybrid will likely be the first of the two devices to debut.
In a world where foldable smartphones are becoming increasingly common, Apple fans have been left eagerly awaiting the arrival of a foldable iPhone. While other tech giants have already made strides with their own foldable devices, Apple has remained notably silent on the matter. However, for a long time now, we have been hearing a lot about the potential foldable iPhone.
According to a report by 9To5Mac, Apple is preparing to make a significant leap into the foldable market with two innovative devices: a foldable iPhone and an iPad/Mac hybrid.
Apple has reportedly signed an important contract for foldable display panels, specifically for its first foldable iPhone. This device is anticipated to feature a top-down fold design, similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Flip, and is expected to hit the market in late 2026.

In addition to the foldable iPhone, Apple seems to be working on an iPad/Mac hybrid device. This device, which could be described as either an all-screen MacBook or a foldable iPad, might feature a 18.8-inch display when unfolded.
Analyst Jeff Pu’s latest report suggests that this hybrid will likely be the first of the two devices to debut, with a projected release in the second quarter of 2026. The foldable iPhone is slated to follow later in the year.

While details on both devices are still limited, these developments mark a bold move for Apple as it prepares to introduce radical changes to its product lineup. Given the scale at which the iPhone is produced compared to other Apple products, starting with a foldable iPad/Mac hybrid may be a strategic approach to manage initial production volumes.
In my opinion, if Apple can deliver compelling foldable devices with significant new features, they could reignite interest and persuade users to make the switch. For now, the anticipation for a foldable iPhone continues, with 2026 marking the earliest possible launch date.
