Firefox has announced a new browser for iOS that promises to offer free and easy to use private browsing on iOS. Firefox Focus is set to block many of the trackers that follow users around the Web by default. With Focus, users need not change any privacy or cookie settings.

Firefox says web users have lost trust and lack meaningful controls over their digital lives. "For some users, it seems as though your web activities can follow you everywhere – across devices, across accounts. To make matters worse, the web can often feel cluttered. That’s why we are introducing Firefox Focus."

Firefox Focus is a literal extension to Focus, a content blocker introduced for iOS in December. Firefox Focus also offers a single tap option to erase all your sessions. Firefox says users of Focus will also see performance boost on sites that track user behaviour. "When you occasionally see a site that doesn’t work because it is dependent on tracking, and if you don’t mind that kind of tracking, Firefox Focus makes it easy to open your current site in either Firefox or Safari."

The web, which was conceived to be open has turned highly convoluted now. There are too many browsers and little peace with browsing. Firefox Focus is designed to fix all of the web issues by offering a simple browser that delivers private browsing by default and makes it extremely easy to erase the sessions.

Firefox Focus is available for download from the App Store right now. The Focus will also continue to operate as a Safari content blocker on iOS, allowing users to take advantage of tracking protection on both Safari and Firefox Focus.
