Users can access the new Google Photo filter from a drop-down menu on search result pages on search result pages and allows users to sort pictures from the content – videos, hangouts, events and other updates in a feed.

“You can now filter your Google search results to only show photo posts. Just type in what you’re looking for, and select “Photos” from the filter dropdown. You can find any photo post that’s shared with you — from items shared only with you, to public photos shared by some of the great photographers on Google ,” says Google in a Google post.

Google’s update to Google search filters comes after Facebook rolled out a major overhaul to its News Feed. In 2011, Google’s social head Vic Gundotra had revealed Google , one of the fastest growing social networking platforms, had seen 3.4 billion photos shared within 100 days of the launch.

Google has been focussing on the photo section of Google for quite some time. Google recently added a pan and zoom feature for high resolution images. The new feature aimed at attracting artists, professional photographers. Moreover, users can post photos via auto-uploading features in its mobile apps and also importing through Google Drive.
