Apparently, the streaming service could not manage the viewership it got while streaming the opening ceremony, which resulted in the lagging of the live stream. Disappointed fans have shot videos and uploaded them to Twitter, confirming that the platform was struggling to provide a stable video feed.

The netizens were smart enough to figure out that the issue existed with the streaming service as they conducted speed tests to check whether it was their internet connection that was causing the problem.
After many users started facing the problem and reported it via Twitter, Jio Cinema acknowledged the issue. The platform said, "we are continuously working to give you a great experience. Please upgrade your app to the latest version to enjoy #FIFAWorldCupQatar2022. Apologies for any inconvenience."
However, viewers did not see any betterment in the live stream, per reports published before midnight on November 20, 2022. Nevertheless, some users could view the FIFA World Cup without issues through the app. As an alternative, FIFA fans can watch the live stream on Sports18 and Sports18 HD TV channels in India.
