Fact Check: Amitabh Bachchan never invested on this platform and you shouldn’t fall for this new scam

There is an article on a website, claiming to be BBC, with the title – ‘Fans advocate for Amitabh Bachchan’s release after controversial interview’. The article claims that legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan in a podcast has revealed that he is making money through a trading platform called Immediate V9 Hiprex. Not just this, the article goes on to claim that the actor is now entirely dependent on the platform for his daily earnings and luxurious lifestyle.

This whole article and the platform itself is nothing but a new scam. And, it’s unbelievable that people behind it are openly using names and pictures of a star like Amitabh Bachchan to fool people. First of all, the article isn’t on BBC but on a fake website that uses BBC logo and pretends to be a credible publisher. Then, it claims that this whole conversation happened during a podcast title ‘The Podcast with Ashwathama’ with Kalki director Nag Ashwin. However, that’s not the case.

The madness doesn’t end here, the website claims that this part of the conversation was taken off from the internet because now that the secret is out, everyone will leave their jobs and start earning money through Immediate V9 Hiprex platform.

“Shocked by the government’s order to detain his, fans are expressing their outrage as charges are brought against Amitabh Bachchan for leaking confidential information that could harm the country’s economy. As a result, he has been placed under house arrest, and authorities have strictly prohibited his from accessing the media,” the opening of this article reads.

It then puts together a completely fake conversation between Amitabh Bachchan and Nag Ashwin along with their pictures from the podcast and some other fake screenshots of their bank statements. The whole conversation is both misleading and childish at different points.

For example, one of the quotes attributed to Amitabh Bachchan is – “The fact is, everyone on the Forbes list uses this platform, including wealthy politicians, lawyers, entrepreneurs, and investors.” The other one says – “Please stop the broadcast. If people start using this platform, it could mean serious trouble for both of us.”

How does the scam happen?

Well, it’s pretty evident that the platform is trying to create a narrative that it is a safe and secure trading website that can be used to make money. Adding credible faces like Amitabh Bachchan and Nag Ashwin along with the BBC logo helps in fooling people. Not everyone might double check or be able to figure out that the url is actually fake.

Then, at the end of the article, the platform has shared a link, claiming that this comes from Amitabh Bachchan himself. It then asks the readers to click on the link and start their trading journey by investing at least Rs 21,000. Why? Because that’s how much Amitabh Bachchan claims to invest as per their fake storyline.

Post that, they also set a context that a lot of users lose money in the first few trades but then start recovering it. That’s to make sure that people make at least 2-3 investments on the platform before they realise that they have been scammed.

It’s almost scary how these online scams are growing with each passing day. Be extremely careful in case you come across one and don’t fall for it.
