Facebook has begun rolling out an improved design for news feed photos on the web. The social network recently released similar upgrades to Facebook photos on mobile.
Photos that appear on your news feed are now up to two times larger, which means when a friend adds photos to an album, users will be able to spot the pictures directly from the feed. Apart from increasing the size of photos, the new layout also changes the way albums will be displayed on the news feed. Now, users will see one large photo on top, while three smaller photos are shown below it.
The new layout also focusses on status updates, as the text in posts will be enhanced and will now be easier to read. According to reports, the update will be rolled out gradually to all users by this weekend.
This is the latest in Facebook’s new focus on improving usages of photos on the site. Few weeks ago, Facebook enlarged the size of users’ profile photos. Recent reports on the web said Facebook was testing a new Timeline design, which will make the profile picture and other information more pronounced.
The social networking giant recently launched a standalone Instagram-styled application called “Facebook Camera”. The app, initially available on the Apple App Store, enables users to filter and post multiple pictures from a phone.
