Experts suggest humans will attach emotionally to AI in future, just like we saw in ‘Her’
"AI is going to be the operating system of all of our devices," said an expert.
He further shared that in the future we will get pretty attached to these AI assistants.
Other experts have also raised concerns about how AI might impact the future of human psychology.
We are living in the world of AI and things are going to get more drastic from here on. We are seeing all the major tech companies across the world focussing on artificial intelligence. But what we are missing out on is its impact on us. How is that going to work out? With the onset of AI, how we interact with AI is also going to change substantially. Toby Walsh has predicted that in the future AI will become more intimate and will not remain like something that we use today.
In a conversation with Tech Today, Walsh said, “AI is going to be the operating system of all of our devices. Everything… our front doorbells, our lights… our cars, our toasters. Everything is being connected to the Internet.” Now, this interconnectedness will be combined with AI. It will be driven by AI assistants that can converse with us find out our needs and offer personalised responses.

He further shared that in the future we will get pretty attached to these AI assistants, dependent too. He went ahead to say that it could be similar to the movie “Her”. He said, “It’s going to be quite an intimate, quite a deep relationship. We have them… It’s going to be quite many specs. You know, the movie “Her” actually was, I think, quite prescient of what it’s going to be.”
In addition to this, other experts have also raised concerns about how AI might impact the future of human psychology. Many argue that even though it is a major technological innovation and can help us, the ethical and social implications have to be taken into account.
There’s a lot of study that needs to be done in this sphere. What do you think, how will AI impact our lives in the future?
