Elon Musk promised a $1 billion investment in AI for Tesla

Any company not spending at this level, and doing so efficiently, cannot compete.
CEO Elon Musk has some big plans and for that, he’s ready to invest the money too. He took to X to share his thoughts, he said, “Tesla will spend around $10B this year in combined training and inference AI, the latter being primarily in car. Any company not spending at this level, and doing so efficiently, cannot compete”.
Now Musk is he’s not going to spend these funds on just basic AI. This investment is being made keeping in mind Tesla. He’s planning to go into a full competitive mode and feels that no other company can reach this level if they do not spend as much as he is.
With the investment, Musk and his team will be working on improving self-driving capabilities in their cars along with robotaxis. This investment will lead to a greater integration of AI within the automotive sector, something which is still brand new.
AI-driven cars could be the next big thing as major tech players, like Elon Musk, are focusing on that space. In the future, it will also drive more competition in that space. What do you think, will we have driverless self-driving cars in the future? Or is it just not practical?
