Elon Musk is a pretty popular figure, he needs no introduction. He often says controversial stuff both in person and on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter). But this time what he has said is not only controversial but also problematic. He shared a post on X that suggests only “high-status males” should be decision-makers.

What did the post that Elon Musk shared say?

The sexist post that Musk shared on X read, “People who can’t defend themselves physically (women and low T men) parse information through a consensus filter as a safety mechanism…They literally do not ask ‘is this true,’ they ask ‘will others be OK with me thinking this is true.’ This makes them very malleable to brute force manufactured consensus…Only high T alpha males and aneurotypical people (hey autists!) are actually free to parse new information with an objective ‘is this true?’ filter. This is why a Republic of high status males is best for decision making. Democratic, but a democracy only for those who are free to think.”

By sharing this, he put it out in public that he thinks that critical thinking is a trait that is only found in “high T alpha males”. Women and the men who did not fit this category were put in an intellectually lower category. Hence, as per Musk decision-making should be reserved for a select group of elite men.

This has gained a lot of criticism online. One user on X said, “This reduces complex human behavior to outdated stereotypes, dismissing the value of diverse perspectives.” Another added, “Critical thinking isn’t exclusive to a select few; it’s enriched by the varied experiences of all people. A thriving society draws strength from inclusion, not elitism.”

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think an influential person like Elon Musk should share things like this? Let me know in the comments.
