Former US President Donald Trump recently shared an intriguing claim about a phone call he received from Google CEO Sundar Pichai. Trump stated that after his visit to a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania, Pichai complimented him, saying, “This is the biggest thing we’ve had in years.” Trump described Pichai as a “great guy” and added that Pichai remarked, “This McDonald’s thing, I want to tell you, it’s one of the biggest things we’ve ever had on Google. It just hit.”

This unexpected praise came after Trump had previously criticised Google, claiming that the search engine obscured results for people trying to find information about him. He had even reached out to Pichai to voice his complaints about this issue, making the recent compliments more surprising.

Trump’s visit to McDonald’s was part of his campaign strategy, aimed at undermining Vice President Kamala Harris. During his time at the restaurant, he wore an apron and worked at the french fry station, serving customers. He took the opportunity to take a jab at Harris by saying that he had worked “15 minutes more than her,” referencing her past statements about working at McDonald’s in her youth.

Trump didn’t hold back when discussing Harris, alleging, “She lied about McDonald’s.” He continued, “I’ve worked here for 15 minutes, which is 15 minutes more than she worked here. Has that proven that she never worked at McDonald’s? Well, McDonald’s has no information. No, she has no information. She’s nobody. The manager said she’d never worked there.”

This highlights Trump’s campaign tactics as he prepares for the upcoming presidential race. By visiting a popular fast-food chain and framing it as a significant moment, Trump aims to connect with everyday Americans while simultaneously attacking his political opponents.
