Even as 4K resolution is yet to go mainstream, Dell has now come up with a 5K monitor! The new Dell monitor – UltraSharp 27 Ultra HD 5K – offers display resolution of 5120 x 2880 pixels.
The Dell UltraSharp 27 Ultra HD 5K Monitor is priced at USD $2,499.99 and will be available in the fourth quarter of this year. The new Dell monitor features “PremierColor and the anti-smudge / anti-reflective edge-to-edge glass design”. The monitor also offers two 16W integrated Harmon Kardon speakers. It comes with six USB ports and one media card reader.
While the 5K resolution is definitely a significant upgrade, many are still switching to the 4K resolution. A lot of manufacturers including Dell have already launched quite a few 4K monitors. Moreover, a lot of content such as games and films are already being optimised for the 4K resolution. It will be interesting to see the 5K adoption in the near future.
“Dell is continuing to emphasize a customer promise to create the most secure and manageable environments,” Patrick Moorhead, founder, president and principal analyst, Moor Insights & Strategy is quoted as saying.
“Each of these areas is a critical component for any IT department, but so is the need to satisfy the user. Dell has wrapped its core IT strengths with new thoughtfully designed and attractive products geared for enhanced productivity in a variety of customer use cases.”
