It is because of an issue in Microsoft's cloud services which has caused flight cancellations and delays.

The users of these airlines are not being able to access their online services as well.

At least three major US airlines, American, United, and Delta, grounded all flights.

The CrowdStrike outage is affecting systems at major airports across the world, including Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. Times Network has been informed that check-in systems (GoNow) of major airlines like Indigo, Akasa and SpiceJet are down globally since 10:45 am. The disruption is because of an issue in Microsoft’s cloud services which has caused flight cancellations and delays across the world, including India. As a result, the Delhi Airport has now moved to manual check-ins while Mumbai airport sources have informed us that they are working fine so far. It is select airlines that are facing issues.

CrowdStrike outage

The users of these airlines are not being able to access their online services as well. So, they will not be able to book new tickets, manage their existing bookings and check in for their upcoming travel. The issue is unlikely to be resolved till CrowdStrike and Microsoft are able to address the problem.

“Due to infrastructure issues with our service provider, some of our online services, including booking, check-in, and manage booking services will be temporarily unavailable,” Akasa Airline said in a statement.

The airline added, “Currently we are following manual check-in and boarding processes at the airports and hence request passengers with immediate travel plans to reach the airport early to check-in at our counters. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused and want to assure you that our teams are working with our service provider to resolve the same at the earliest.”

“We’re currently facing a technical issue in providing updates on flight disruptions. Our team is actively working to resolve this issue. We regret for any inconvenience caused and will update you once the issue is resolved. Thank you for your patience and co-operation, Spicejet said in a statement,” Spicejet said in a statement.
