Russian drone-maker Hoversurf mixed a quadcopter drone with a motorbike, to give us what could be a true Hoverbike.

Have you ever dreamed of flying with the same simplicity as riding a bike?

That’s how Hoversurf, a Russian drone maker, describes its new product. The company mated a motorcycle and quadcopter drone, making what could be a very functional approach at the coveted Hoverbike. The company calls it the Scorpion-3, and uses software to limit the velocity and altitude that the bike can go to.

The company actually calls it a “single-seat aircraft” instead of a hoverbike. “The Scorpion platform is a single-seat aircraft that rediscovers the art of flying and hovering enabling a hi-tech quadcopter-based solution,” says the description on Hoversurf’s website. It has a motorcycle seat at the centre, along with the quadcopter drone rotors on the front and back. The company says it brings stability of flight to both professional and amateur navigators.

Hoversurf says the machine basically “surfs through the air”, while changing direction and altitude. It looks somewhat like a dirt bike, and has been inspired by “heavy-duty sport-utility” motorbike frames.

The company is apparently also working on a Jetpack. “Scorpion platform is part of a series of projects including Jetpack by Malloy, Aerofex, A. Duru, E-Hang, Bye Gravity, E-volo,” it wrote.
