While DSLRs keep getting affordable by the day, Canon has added a new name to its range of DSLR cameras today. The 1200D has been officially announced in India, an upgrade which was due for some time. The 1200D is the successor of the 1100D and comes packed with some mid-range DSLR features targeted at the entry level range of DSLRs.
For starters, it comes with Canon’s latest DIGIC 4 imaging processor and has an 18MP APS-C CMOS sensor. Other features of the camera include a 9-point auto-focusing system, an ISO range of 100 to 6400 (Boost to 12800), a 3-fps drive mode, and capability to record full HD videos at 30fps. The 1200D will also support more than 70 EF Canon lenses.

The 1200D has been priced at Rs. 30,995 for the body only. The prices of the kit options are: EOS 1200D 18-55 IS II lens for Rs. 34,995 and EOS 1200D 18-55 IS II & 55-250 IS II for Rs. 39,995.
