Box for Android goes global, offers 50GB storage free till March 23

Box for Android has been updated, and is available on the Android Market globally.

The app, similar to Dropbox, now supports Android versions ranging from 1.6 to 4.0, and comes in more languages – French, German, Spanish and Italian.

As an introductory offer, users who register Box for Android before March 23 will get 50GB of cloud storage and file-sharing free, instead of the standard 5GB.

Box across platforms currently has over 8 million registered users, most of which are enterprises. With its Google Apps, NetSuite, and Salesforce integration, it’s not hard to see why Box is most popular with enterprises.

Matt Self, vice president of the platform development engineering group at Box, spoke to eWeek about the new version, saying:

“Android matters to us because we bring Box to whatever devices are showing up in the enterprise. We’re not tied to any particular platform.”
