HIGHLIGHTS

Link-shortening website Bitly is now adding 'feelings' feature with its new beta product Bitly for Feelings.

Bit.ly has introduced a new bookmarklet, called Bitly for Feelings, which not only lets you to customise URLs but also express feelings about the content shared.

Currently in the beta phase, Bitly for Feelings allows you to choose feeling when shortening a link. For example, if you love a piece of content, you can use upvot.es or luvit.me. If you hate any content, you can use loath.es or oppos.es. For funny content, you can use lolthis.me and yaythis.me for something exciting.

You can install Bitly for Feelings from here.

Hilary Mason, the chief scientist at Bit.ly announces the new feature in a post on Twitter

The new bookmarklet takes a step beyond the basic URL shortening and brings in some fun and style in expressing opinions or sharing a message. Tim Carmody at The Verge points out the feature may help one to gauge the sentiment feedback.
