When buying a PC case, the first thing that needs to be decided is the form factor. The things that you need to check for cases is if they can accomodate the after market cooling solutions that you plan to install, and if they support full sized graphic cards. Also, there is a need to check if the case supports the amount of storage drives that you require, and if it does not, there may be a need to go for larger cases. Here, we have picked the most common form factor, for the most used motherboard standard. These cases are picked to be suitable across a range of budgets, and can all fit the standard ATX motherboards. Some PC cases allow you access to the components without the use of tools, which is great additional feature. Then it is important to look at the cooling, such as the number of fans available by default, and the airflow through the case. After that, comes the cable management aspect, which some cases doing very well in the department, even having patented solutions. Another thing to check is the accessibility for USB ports and audio devices on the front panel, so you don't have to reach to the back of the machine every time you want to plug or unplug something. Then comes the aesthetics, which is not less imporant. This is where features such as a tempered glass side panel to show off your cool components, as well as LED lighting comes into play. Here are the best options after considering all these factors.

This is a great deal for a home or office PC, with a simple and monolithic layout. Still, one side is covered by a glass panel that can be removed without tools for access to the components. There is sufficient space for five 120mm fans with one fan pre-installed in the front. There are removable dust covers for the fans that you can use as required. The top edge of the front panel has two USB slots, with one of them being a high speed USB 3.0 interface. The case also makes sure your cables are well organised with tie-downs.

Antec NX230 NX (buy here)

Along with a transparent side panel, there are thin strips of LED lights along the front panel which gives additional oomph without being over the top. There is a dedicated button to control the LED lights along the front. In terms of cooling, the case supports 8 120mm fans, and comes with one installed at the back. There are also two removable dust covers. The PSU is housed in a seperate bay on the bottom, which helps with the cable management. Along with the mic and headphone jacks, there are three USB ports along the top edge.

There are three RGB fans along the front that come pre-installed. An additional 3 120 mm fans can be installed in the case, and it also supports basic liquid cooling setups. There are some nice design flourishes such as rubber stoppers for the side panel screws which means they do not come completely off, and an additional SSD bay on throwin in on top of the PSU shroud. The cable management options should keep your wires organised with plenty of room to spare. There are two USB slots on the top of the front panel, along with the audio jacks. The reset button can be used to control the RGB on the front fans if the motherboard does not support it.

NZXT H510 (buy here)

If you like simple but thoughtful designs and think that LED lights on the chassis are too tacky, then this is the case for you. For cooling there are two 120mm fans, which come preinstalled with the case. The PSU is housed in a seperate compartment with a removable dust cover. The single most important reason to pick this case is the cable management. The inner sides of the chassis has a moduler routing kit with preinstalled channels. You can use these fixtures to guide the cables around the case as required, and keep all the excess length tucked away invisibly. The tempered glass side panel detaches without tools, using a single thumb screw, which gives easy access to the components. The case has been designed to easily support liquid cooling and the frequent maintainance required on such a setup.
