BenQ today launched two monitors catering to the professional gaming niche: The XL2430T for Rs. 36,000 and the XL2730Z for Rs. 50,000 INR. If you buy either monitor, you will get a Steelseries Fnatic Rival mouse along with a Steelseries Fnatic QCK Asphalt edition mouse pad, which is worth Rs. 8,000.
The XL2430T is a 24-inch 1080p panel with a high 144hz refresh rate, to reduce artifacts and screen tearing. This is especially helpful for FPS Gamers. The XL2730Z is a 27-inch Quad-HD Panel with a 144hz Refresh rate. Both monitors share some features, enabling a better experience for professional gamers. BenQ’s proprietary motion blur reduction technology has been implemented, to get a clearer picture during fast-paced scenes. Since gamers spend long-hours staring at screens, they may experience eye-fatigue, and to prevent this, both monitors reduce the use of blue-light.
Since professional gamers usually train on a particular hardware set to their liking, BenQ has implemented a few features that lets them emulate the experience of their hardware anywhere. First off, the precise display settings can be saved to the cloud or on a pendrive, and with a single click, these settings can be implemented anywhere, provided the monitor is the same model. Secondly, there is something called Smart Scaling, that lets gamers adapt the monitor to the precise size and aspect ratio they are comfortable with. The height of the monitors can be adjusted easily through a 14 level height control stand attached to the monitors. Not only this, but positioning the screen at the angle you want is also made more convenient.
For easy switching between game modes and adjustment of display settings, a separate S-witch is provided, which is basically a small remote with big, easily accessible buttons.
The panels can also automatically detect whether you are playing an RTS/FPS/MOBA game and optimize your settings accordingly. For example, in FPS games, Black Equalizer is turned on, which basically illuminates darker areas without overexposing them. This can prove to be helpful for FPS gamers, making them more aware of enemies lurking in darker areas. The one thing that is not available in the smaller 24-in panel is support for AMD’s FreeSync technology. Basically, what it does is synchronize the display with the GPU, enabling smoother movement, lesser artifacts and an overall better experience.
BenQ offers PAN India warranty, covering over 105 locations, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 areas. Both monitors come with 3 years onsite warranty, and you can get them replaced with a no-questions asked policy if you find any dead pixels or other defects. The company promises to respond in 12 hours if you live in a metro and in 24 hours for tier 2 and tier 3 areas.
