Asus Eee Pad Slider listed for pre-order on Amazon, starting from $480
Asus has been teasing the Asus Eee Pad Slider, another laptop-tablet hybrid like the Eee Pad Transformer, ever since it was first exquisitely detailed back in January, at Computex 2011. Most of the year has gone by, and still, Asus has only launched the Asus Eee Pad Transformer and the Windows-based Eee Slate EP121, with the Eee Pad MeMO and Slider conspicuously missing in action.
Earlier rumours placed the Eee Pad Slider’s arrival sometime in September, and these might have just turned out to have contained some truth. For a short while, the Asus Eee Pad Slider was listed for pre-order on Amazon, before the online retail giant pulled the pages.

According to the pre-order page, the Eee Pad Slider will be priced at $480 for its 16GB variant, and $580 for its 32GB variant. Not too bad, considering the 10.1-inch tablet comes bearing a full sized keyboard at no additional cost, unlike the immensely popular (and cheaper) Asus Eee Pad Transformer.
The specifications listed on the pre-order pages added some interesting details to what we knew from earlier this year, such as the fact the tablet will run on Android 3.2 Honeycomb and 1GB of RAM. Other specs include the 1GHz Tegra 2 dual-core chipset as the CPU-GPU, a 1280×800 pixel IPS display, and a variety of ports, include miniHDMI, and miniUSB.
