September is almost here and we are awaiting the brand new iPhone 16 lineup. But turns out, something else is also cooking at the Apple headquarters. If media reports are to be believed, Apple is developing a new tabletop home device that merges an iPad-like display with a robotic arm. Sounds crazy, right?

The above-mentioned device is currently under development and hence will take some time till we are actually able to use it. It is being worked upon by a team of several hundred engineers, as per a Bloomberg report. This device is designed to act as a command centre for smart homes. You might be able to do video conferencing, remote-control security, and more with it. The robotic arm might allow the screen to move and rotate.

The project goes by the codename of J595 and was approved back in 2022. It has gained some momentum recently. As is obvious, this device will be powered by Apple Intelligence, so you might get the AI-ready Siri too. Users would be able to control the device through voice commands, with the screen responding by repositioning itself during video calls or focusing on different voices in the room.

This is a strategic move. It looks like Apple is trying to diversify its product lineup and capitalise on the growing demand for AI-powered home devices. This comes after Apple had to shut down its self-driving car project. It has cost the company a lot but has still failed. The company is now focusing on bringing this innovative home device to market, potentially by 2026 or 2027. The price of this is expected to be around $1,000.

Let’s see when Apple released this product and whether it will come to India or not.
