Apple held its education event on March 27 where the Cupertino-based tech giant announced a new 9.7-inch iPad. The new iPad is powered by Apple’s A10 Fusion Chip, a processor we have seen powering the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. The new iPad also supports the Apple Pencil, a feature that was previously exclusive to the iPad Pro family of devices.
If you are interested in picking up the new 2018 iPad, you can pre-order it on Flipkart. The new tablet launches on April 25 and Flipkart promises delivery of the device on April 26. As far as pricing is concerned, the entry level 2018 iPad which has 32GB storage and Wi-Fi only is priced at Rs 28,000. The 128GB Wi-Fi only device is priced at Rs 38,600. The 32GB Wi-Fi + Cellular variant is priced at Rs 35,700 and the 128GB Wi-Fi + Cellular version is priced at Rs 46,300.
Flipkart also has a bunch of offers for customers to avail when purchasing the 2018 iPad. Customers can exchange their old smartphone, and get up to Rs 16,000 discount on purchasing the new iPad. Using an Axis Bank Buzz credit card users can get an extra five percent discount which has a maximum limit of Rs 200. No cost EMI offers starting at Rs 3,112.
Unlike the iPad Pro, the new 2018 9.7-inch iPad doesn't feature the Smart Connector on the side to connect to Apple’s keyboard. But you can connect it to a Bluetooth keyboard, a feature that has worked on the previous generation iPad.
If AR Kit was a concern, then you need not worry. The tablet supports AR Kit. As per Apple’s website, you need a minimum of the A9 chip on your iOS device to ensure AR Kit works. The 2017 iPad was powered by the A9 chip which means that it has the bare minimum to ensure AR Kit runs. As mentioned above, the new iPad has the A10 Fusion chip and will also work well with AR Kit. In terms of its design, the new iPad looks exactly like its predecessor. You can check out our detailed comparison between the 2017 and 2018 iPad here.
