Elon Musk was ready to sell his Tesla to Apple but he had one major condition.

A Bloomberg report revealed yesterday that Apple has internally announced that their car project, something on the likes of Elon Musk’s Tesla, has now been shelved. The project called Project Titan was under development for over ten years and was highly anticipated. Well as we wait to hear about “Apple’s car,” new developments are coming forth on what was happening at the Apple offices. Reports reveal that during these ten years, there were talks about Apple’s acquisition of Tesla, Apple designing a Siri-controlled car, and Elon Musk offering to become the CEO of Apple. Read along as I share what all we know so far.

Siri to steer Apple’s car?

Let’s talk about the most interesting part first. A Siri-controlled Apple car! A report by The New York Times revealed that initially, Apple was planning to substitute the steering wheel in its car with Siri – the virtual assistant. So the car would have been controlled entirely by Siri. This reminds me of just another sci-fi movie. And I am not really sure how it would have worked out, but I guess we’ll never know now.

Apple tried to acquire Tesla

Let’s now come to Tesla and Apple. Over time, I am sure you might have heard rumours of how Apple was acquiring Tesla. The New York Times report furthers on that. It reveals that Elon Musk and Tim Cook were having discussions over the latter acquiring Tesla. The report reads, “The company held some discussions with Elon Musk about acquiring Tesla, according to two people familiar with the talks. But ultimately, it decided that building its own car made more sense than buying and integrating another business.”

Previously, a Wall Street Journal report had mentioned how Musk was ready to sell his Tesla but he had one major condition. He did not only want to be the CEO of Tesla but of Apple. Imagine that!

Well, I can’t confirm anything for you until and unless we hear directly from the company. Until then I’ve shared all that the reports have to say. Stick around to get the latest updates.
