Apple has launched the much awaited 21.5-inch 4K iMac along with the new 27-inch 5K iMac. In addition, Apple has also announced new accessories, including its Magic Mouse 2, Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad 2. Buyers will also have the choice of selecting a Fusion Drive of up to 2TB on the 21.5-inch iMac model and up to 3TB on the 27-inch version. Let’s see what each of these newly launched products has to offer.
21.5-inch 4K iMac:
The newly launched 21.5-inch iMac features a Retina display with 4K (4096 x 2304) resolution and 9.4 million pixels. It results in a pixel density of about 218 ppi, which is equal to the 27-inch iMac with 5k resolution. It is powered by the 5th generation 3.1GHz Intel Core i7 Broadwell processors with Intel Iris Pro Graphics. It also has 8GB of RAM and 1 TB storage along with two Thunderbolt 2 ports. Apple’s new 21.5-inch 4k iMac will run on the newly launched OS X El Capitan. The pricing of the 21.5-inch iMac starts at $1,099 (approx. Rs.71,605) and the 4K variant costs $1,499 (approx. Rs. 97,615).
27-inch 5K iMac:
The refreshed 27-inch 5K iMac sports a Retina display with 5120x2880px resolution and a total of 14.7 million pixles. It houses the latest 6th generation Intel Skylake processor along with AMD Radeon R9 graphics. It has 8GB of RAM and 1 TB storage. It also features two Thunderbolt 2 ports and will run on El Capitan. Its price starts at $1,799 (approx. Rs. 1,17,214).
As for the newly launched accessories, the Magic Trackpad 2 comes with 29% more surface area and features the Force Touch feature. It is priced at $129 (approx. Rs.8,405). The Magic Keyboard can be charged completely within two hours using a Lightning-to-USB cable, according to Apple. The keyboard also has support for Bluetooth connectivity and is priced at $99 (approx. Rs.6,450). Apple has made some changes to the internal design of the Magic Mouse 2 and it features a rechargeable battery. The mouse is available at a price tag of $79 (approx. Rs.5,147). The newly launched iMacs will come with a Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Keyboard.
Further, Apple will launch the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus in India on October 16. The iPhones are available for pre-orders on various e-commerce websites like Flipkart, Amazon, and PayTM.
