Apple is gearing up to strengthen its offline presence in India with the launch of four new retail stores across the country. These stores are planned in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune and Bengaluru. While Delhi and Mumbai were the first to get Apple stores in India last year, Pune and Bengaluru will be the new additions to the list. The earlier stores were inaugurated by Apple CEO Tim Cook in April last year and have been very popular among Apple buyers, with thousands lining up to get their iPhones during the first day of the sale.

“Our stores are incredible places to experience the magic of Apple, and it’s been wonderful to deepen our connection with our customers in India,” said Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of Retail. “We’re thrilled to build our teams as we plan to open more stores in India, because we’re inspired by the creativity and passion of our customers across this country. We can’t wait for them to have even more opportunities to discover and shop for our amazing products and services, and connect with our extraordinary, knowledgable team members.”

Along with this, Apple has also shared that it has started manufacturing all the iPhone 16 series models in India and they will soon be available in the stores. The company was previously making the base iPhone models in the country and this is the first time when even the Pro models are being made in India.

“Apple is now manufacturing the entire iPhone 16 lineup, including iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, in India,” the official statement from Apple read. It looks like Apple is not only interested in retail expansion but also committed to boosting local manufacturing.

In addition to expanding its retail footprint and manufacturing efforts, Apple’s presence in India extends beyond just product sales. Apple works with partners across India that are advancing critical work to protect the environment. Its collaboration with CleanMax, a joint venture aimed at enhancing clean energy capacity, is part of Apple’s broader goal to be 100% carbon neutral for its entire supply chain by 2030.
