Apple has announced that it will be hosting a special ‘Spring Loaded’ event on April 20. The Cupertino giant is sending out invites to the media for an event where it is expected to unveil the next generation of the iPad Pro and more. This special Apple event precedes the WWDC 2021, which is expected to be held sometime in June.
Apple’s invite for the event on April 20 says ‘Spring loaded’ without shedding any light on the exact details of the announcement. Having said that, there are rumours that Apple could be preparing to unveil a new iPad Pro with a mini-LED display along with a bunch of products.
Apple is hosting its ‘Spring Loaded’ event on April 20 which is slated to kick off from 10:30 PM IST (10 AM PDT). The event is expected to be a virtual affair due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. However, just like the past events, the upcoming Spring event will be live-streamed on YouTube and the Apple website. Apple is expected to announce the next generation of its iPad Pro tablet with a mini-LED display as has been rumoured for the longest time now. Apart from that, the company is also expected to announce the much-awaited tracker which may or may not be called AirTags.
As per the latest report, Apple’s mini-LED suppliers in Taiwan have run into production issues that could impact the availability of the new iPad and iPad Pro with a mini-LED display. However, the latest piece of information says that Apple is on track to launch two new iPads sometime in the second half of April. The mini-LED display on the next-generation iPads is expected to offer better colours, contrast ratio and overall brighter images. The top-end 12.9-inch model of the iPad Pro is the one expected to receive an upgrade to the mini-LED display while the standard variant could be an incremental update.
