Apple has sent out invites for an event that will take place on October 22. Apple is expected to showcase the next iteration of the iPad along with a few other products
Apple has sent out press invites for an event that will take place on October 22. The invite reads, “We still have a lot to cover”. If rumours and leaks circulating the Internet are to be believed, then Apple is expected to showcase an update to the iPad and iPad mini at the event.
Information circulating the Internet suggests that the 9.7-inch iPad will see a redesign and become slimmer. It will have design elements very reminiscent of the iPad mini. The iPad mini too will see an upgrade in terms of specifications. It will still have the 7.8-inch form factor but will house a Retina Display. Apple may also integrate the fingerprint scanner with the home button on the tablets. The fingerprint scanner made its debut with the iPhone 5s. Whether the iPad will follow the colourful footsteps of the iPhone 5c is something we will believe when we see it at the event.
Apart from the new iPads, there are a lot of confirmed products that Apple needs to shed some more light on. To start with, there is OSX 10.9 Mavericks. We have seen a glimpse of the new desktop OS in the past and can’t wait for a confirmed release date.
Apple has also shown us a glimpse of the very futuristic Mac Pro. At WWDC, none of the attendees were allowed to touch it. It was showcased in a glass enclosure. Maybe we will see the new Mac Pros in action this time around?
