HIGHLIGHTS

The update is incremental and fixes a latency issue on some Apple’s devices. It is being rolled out in phases and users with iOS 11 and above are eligible for the update.

Apple has released a new software update for iOS 11, since it was launched for all supported iPhone and iPad devices officially on September 19. The update is incremental and patches some bugs, which were reported since the release of last iOS 11.0.2 update.

The iOS 11.0.3 fixes an audio and haptic feedback issue which were reported on some iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphones. Apple also says that it has resolved a touch input issue on some iPhone 6s’ displays with the update. The smartphone displays were reported to be unresponsive, which Apple states is the result of not servicing the device with genuine Apple parts. Users on iOS 11, iOS 11.0.1 and iOS 11.0.2 are all eligible for the upgrade, which is being rolled out in a phased manner.

The iOS 11.0.3 update can be downloaded on supported Apple devices by heading over to Settings and tapping on the General tab. Here, under Software updates, users can download the latest iOS 11.0.3, if it is available for their device. Apple had recently released the iOS 11.0.2 software patch for its device, which fixed the iPhone’s crackling sound issue. iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus users reported of a crackling noise while making phone or FaceTime calls. The previous patch fixed this issue along with the problem of attachments not opening in S/MIME encrypted emails.

Apple had released the iOS 11.1 Beta 2 for its beta testers on iPhones and iPads just recently. The beta brings back the 3D-Touch gestures for faster multitasking and some new Unicode 10 emojis as well. You can learn more about the new features released in the beta version here.
