Apple launches M4-powered iMac with Apple Intelligence: Check price and features

Apple has officially introduced its latest iMac, powered by the new M4 chip, delivering a significant boost in performance for daily tasks and demanding workflows like photo editing and gaming. With the M4, Apple claims that the new iMac is up to 1.7x faster for regular productivity tasks and up to 2.1x faster for more intensive activities compared to the M1-powered iMac. “With the Neural Engine in M4, iMac is the world’s best all-in-one for AI,” Apple said.
The M4 iMac is built for Apple Intelligence – Apple’s own suite of AI features which was earlier introduced on the iPhone 16 series. Over the course of this week, Apple is expected to announce upgrades across the whole Mac line-up to make its PCs AI-ready.

M4 iMac: Specs and Features
The new iMac is powered by the M4 chip. Users can expect up to 1.7x faster performance in apps like Microsoft Excel and up to 2.1x faster photo editing in Adobe Photoshop compared to the M1 model. It also features a Neural Engine that’s over 3x faster, making the iMac the best all-in-one for AI tasks, the tech giant claims.
Other features include a new 12MP Center Stage camera, which supports Desk View, allowing users to show both their face and a top-down view of their workspace simultaneously—perfect for educators or creators. The 24-inch 4.5K Retina display on iMac is its highest-rated feature, and for the first time, it’s available with a nano-texture glass option that reduces reflections and glare, while maintaining outstanding image quality.
Additionally, all four USB-C ports support Thunderbolt 4, allowing fast data transfer and connecting external displays.

M4 iMac: Price and Availability
The new iMac by Apple is priced at Rs 1,34,900 in India and will be available at Rs 1,24,900 for education. It is available in Green, Yellow, Orange, Pink, Purple, Blue and Silver. It features an 8-core CPU, an 8-core GPU, 16GB of RAM configurable up to 24GB, 256GB SSD configurable up to 1TB, two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad.
The iMac with a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU starts at Rs 1,54,900 and Rs 1,44,900 for education, and is available in green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver. It features 16GB of RAM configurable up to 32GB, 256GB SSD configurable up to 2TB, four Thunderbolt 4 ports, Magic Keyboard with Touch ID, and Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad.
The new iMacs are available for pre-order from today, and the sales will commence on November 8.
