Apple is gearing up to launch its new Private AI cloud service next week, which will be called Private Cloud Compute. The tech giant is so confident about the security of its new AI cloud service that it is offering up to $1 million, which converts into Rs 8.3 crore, to security researchers who can identify vulnerabilities in the cloud service that might threaten the service. In a recent update on Apple’s security blog, the company stated that it will pay as much as Rs 8.3 crore to anyone who can report serious exploits that could allow malicious code to run on its Private Cloud Compute servers to ensure security. Additionally, researchers can earn up to $250,000, which is Rs 2 crore, for privately reporting vulnerabilities that could access users’ sensitive information or their prompts submitted to the cloud.
Furthermore, Apple also said it will look into any major security issues and is offering rewards of up to $150,000, Rs 1.25 crore if you convert them, for finding exploits that could access sensitive user data from privileged network positions.
Apple is offering this kind of money as a move of its part of Apple’s ongoing bug bounty program, which rewards hackers and researchers for privately reporting flaws that could compromise user security. Recently, Apple has taken steps to enhance the security of its flagship iPhones. The tech giant even created a special device just for researchers to hack, which is aimed at combating spyware threats.
In a blog post by Apple, the company shared more details about the security measures for its Private Cloud Compute service, including source code and documentation. The company describes this service as an online extension of its customers’ on-device AI model, Apple Intelligence, which is designed to manage more demanding AI tasks while maintaining user privacy.
