According to a report by Bloomberg, Apple will drop Apple Intelligence to iPhones with iOS 18.1 update.
With the iOS 18.1 update, you will reportedly get Writing Tools, a new Siri interface, and more.
Apple announced iOS 18 during its WWDC 2024 event, and along with that, the tech giant also unveiled the most-anticipated Apple Intelligence. This is the brand’s first generative AI feature for iPhones, iPads, and more Apple devices. However, it’s been three months now and Apple fans are still waiting for these features to roll out on Apple devices publicly. At the Apple Glowtime event, Apple Intelligence was expected to roll out with the launch of new iPhones, but that also didn’t happen. Although, Apple seems to be rolling out these features publicly this month.
According to a new report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple will drop Apple Intelligence to iPhones with iOS 18.1 update. This update is set to roll out on October 28, as per the report. Gurman also discussed why there is so much delay in rolling out these features. He states that Apple is making sure that when Apple Intelligence rolls out, it will be bug-free. Since Apple has created so much hype, tons of users are going to get their hands on it. This is also why it got delayed: Apple has to make sure that its private cloud computing servers can handle all of that traffic.
Apple Intelligence features with iOS 18.1
The report further states that even after an official public launch, all the features will not be rolled out. With the iOS 18.1 update, you will reportedly get Writing Tools, a new Siri interface, Notification Summaries, Memory Creation, Clean Up in Photos, and more AI features for notifications.
More cool AI features are said to be rolled out with other iOS 18 updates.
What are those other features?
With iOS 18.2, which is expected to roll out in December 2024, you might be able to access ChatGPT support, Genmoji, and Image Playground. Moreover, you might get to see the all-new Siri with iOS 18.3 or iOS 18.4 in 2025 possibly.
Now, if I talk about the availability of Apple Intelligence in India, I am not fully sure that it will roll out in India in October as well. This is because some previous reports claimed that Apple will first drop Apple Intelligence in the USA and then in other regions. In India, Apple Intelligence is expected to drop in 2025.
