The wait is finally over! Apple has officially announced the date for its highly awaited 2024 event—mark your calendars for September 9th. As usual, the tech world is buzzing with excitement, and fans are eager to see what the company has in store this time around. From new iPhones to new smartwatches, here’s a look at what you can expect from Apple’s big day.

iPhone 16 series

iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus expected specs

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to be powered by the A18 Bionic chipset paired with 8GB of RAM. The iPhone 16 might feature a 6.1-inch display, while the Plus variant could boast a larger 6.7-inch screen. Battery capacities are also rumoured to differ, with the standard iPhone 16 likely packing a 3,561mAh battery and the iPhone 16 Plus possibly housing a 4,006mAh battery. Both models are anticipated to include a dual-rear camera setup, featuring a 48MP primary wide camera with an f/1.6 aperture and up to 2x zoom, alongside an ultra-wide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and 0.5x zoom.

iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max expected specs

The iPhone 16 Pro model might come with a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max could sport a 6.9-inch screen, with the latter rumoured to have the industry’s thinnest bezels. Both Pro models are likely to be equipped with the A18 Pro chipset. Battery capacities may include a 3,355mAh battery for the iPhone 16 Pro and a 4,676mAh battery for the Pro Max. These Pro models are expected to sport a triple-rear camera setup, including a 48MP primary sensor, a 12MP telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom, and a 48MP ultra-wide camera with pixel-binning technology. Additionally, the Pro models might support Apple’s ProRaw photos, the new JPEG-XL image format, and 3K video recording at 120 fps with Dolby Vision.

Apple Watch Series 10, Watch Ultra 3 and Apple Watch SE 2024

In addition to the new iPhones, Apple might also unveil the Apple Watch Series 10. The Watch Series 10 is expected to feature a similar design to previous models but with larger display options of 45mm and 49mm. The event is also expected to see the launch of the Watch Ultra 3 and a third-generation Apple Watch SE.

AirPods 4

Apple is also expected to unveil its fourth-generation AirPods at the event. According to leaks, these new AirPods will be powered by the H2 chipset, potentially enhancing both audio quality and battery life. The leaks further indicate that the AirPods 4 will be available in two variants, both equipped with a USB Type-C charging port.

AirPods Max 2

The AirPods Max 2 headphones are expected to include a major internal upgrade—a new chip, potentially the H2 chip currently used in the AirPods Pro 2. This chip is expected to bring powerful audio features to the AirPods Max 2 like Adaptive Audio and Conversation Awareness. Another significant change is expected to be the switch to USB-C charging.
