In September, Apple released the iOS 16 along with the new iPhone 14 series. However, fans and enthusiasts missed the iPadOS 16 at the Apple Event. Usually, iOS and iPadOS versions run side by side, but iOS 16 was not accompanied by iPadOS16. However, that could change next week. Apparently, the Cupertino-based tech giant is gearing to release the iPadOS 16 in the coming days.
On October 11, 2022, known journalist Mark Gurman posted a tweet that contained information about the iPadOS 16 rollout. As per Gurman, Apple will release iPadOS 16.1 in the week of October 24, 2022, which means that the next iteration of iPadOS could either hit devices on October 24 or in the same week. And yes, the company will skip iPadOS 16 and, instead, roll out iPadOS 16.1, as it had confirmed previously.

It is worth noting that Apple has not confirmed the launch date for iPadOS 16.1. However, it did mention that the latest iPadOS will come out sometime in October. Since Gurman's predictions are right on the money, users can expect the iPadOS 16.1 to be out in a few days. As far as supported devices are concerned, iPadOS 16.1 will run on iPad (5th generation) and, later, iPad Mini (5th generation) and later, iPad Air (third-generation) and later, and on all the iPad Pro models.
We've also come across reports that suggest Apple is gearing up for a hardware launch later this month. The launch could reveal an iPad Pro powered by Apple's M2 chip, the successor to the iPad (9th generation), and new MacBook Pro models powered by unreleased Apple chipsets. Again, Apple has not confirmed the date for this event as well.
