As 2024 comes to a close, reports suggest that Apple is gearing up for a significant expansion into smart home products in 2025. The tech giant is expected to launch three exciting devices that could reshape its Home lineup. Here’s a closer look at what’s on the horizon.

Wall-mounted display (HomePad)

One of the most anticipated releases is a new device rumoured to be called the “HomePad.” This gadget is designed to act as a smart home hub, blending features of an iPad and a smart display.

According to reports, the HomePad will be similar in size to two iPhones placed side by side. The device will likely feature a thick bezel, a front-facing camera, built-in speakers, and a rechargeable battery. It will likely be mounted on walls, making it perfect for controlling smart home appliances and handling tasks like videoconferencing.

Key features of the HomePad may include enhanced Siri with AI-powered capabilities, widgets and controls for the Home app, slideshow functionality using the Photos app, and much more.

Reports suggest the HomePad could launch as early as March 2025, though some analysts predict a later release.

New Apple TV 4K

Apple is also expected to update its Apple TV 4K in 2025. While details are limited, this version will likely include Apple’s latest Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chips and a faster A18 or A17 Pro processor. These upgrades could enable better AI support and compatibility with newer TV technologies.

The overall design and operating system are expected to remain similar to the current model, but the performance boost should make it a worthwhile upgrade for Apple TV users.

HomePod Mini 2

The HomePod mini, which hasn’t been updated since its 2020 launch, might finally be getting a refresh. The second-generation HomePod mini will likely include Apple’s new in-house connectivity chips, but other details remain under wraps.

Apple might bring Apple Intelligence support to the device. Its affordability and smart speaker capabilities will likely remain its key selling points.
