Apple and Meta are reportedly working on new AI-powered humanoid robots. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman’s latest Power On newsletter, Facebook’s owner has invested over $65 billion in artificial intelligence, robotics, and virtual reality by 2025, as well as established a new team within Reality Labs to develop AI-powered humanoid robots to assist humans in daily tasks.

According to reports, Meta’s goal is to create humanoid robots that can perform everyday tasks. However, the overall goal is to create AI sensors and software that third-party companies can use to build their own robots. With this, the company hopes to provide a standard platform for robotics, just like Android for phones.

On the other hand, Apple is experimenting with robotics and non-humanoid designs. According to reports, the humanoid robot project is currently in its early stages and can be like Tesla’s Optimus. While no official information is available about the types of robots Apple is developing. However, reports indicate that Apple will take time to introduce them and launches are years away.

Meanwhile, Apple is reportedly developing a tabletop robot with an iPad-like display on its arm. It could launch in 2026 or 2027. In addition, the company is developing a lamp-like robot prototype that can move and interact.

It should be noted that detailed information about Meta and Apple’s humanoid robots, such as the prototypes, use cases, and other details, is currently unknown. To learn more about the new concept, we may have to wait a few months.

In other news, Apple is expected to introduce a new mystery device on February 19. While most of the media report suggests that it is the iPhone SE 4, Apple is yet to confirm the development. Tim Cook in his X post teased the product stating, ““Get ready to meet the newest member of the family.”
