Anand Mahindra, the chairman of Mahindra Group, recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a fascinating innovation—a mosquito-killing device invented by a Chinese man. The unique gadget is equipped with a laser and radar system, designed to detect and eliminate mosquitoes. Dubbed by Mahindra as an “Iron Dome for your Home,” this invention has sparked significant interest, particularly as cities like Mumbai grapple with a rise in mosquito-borne diseases like dengue.
In his post, Mahindra expressed a keen interest in acquiring this technology, humorously referring to the device as a “miniature cannon.” He wrote, “With dengue on the rise in Mumbai, I’m trying to figure out how to acquire this miniature cannon, invented by a Chinese man, which can seek out & destroy mosquitoes! An Iron Dome for your Home.”

The post attracted a wide range of reactions from users. Some saw the potential for a business venture, with one user commenting, “You just gave me a billionaire business idea.” Another user marveled at the innovation, stating, “This Chinese man is mad on mosquitoes, and the invention is crazy.” However, not everyone was convinced of its effectiveness. One user wrote, “Indian mosquitoes are clever enough to dodge these lasers!” while another questioned its practicality in different conditions, asking, “Looks like a prototype, will this work in the dark?”
This isn’t the first time Anand Mahindra has praised innovative technology. In a recent post, he shared a video showcasing advancements in solar panel technology. “The pace of innovation in the solar energy industry is simply incredible,” Mahindra wrote. “As the fastest growing large economy in the world, our energy needs are going to be daunting.”
