Amazon India takes on Flipkart, announces ‘One Day assured delivery for Rs.99’
Amazon.in, Amazon's Indian online store has launched a guaranteed one day delivery offer in select cities across India including Pune, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Ahmedabad for Rs.99.
Amazon India today officially introduced the availability of a guaranteed ‘One Day Delivery’ service in select pin codes across several cities in India including Bangalore, Mumbai, New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Pune.
Shoppers will be eligible for this one day delivery option by paying an additional Rs.99, if their address falls in the zones eligible for this service. Along with that, Amazon is also offering guaranteed two-day delivery for a discounted price of Rs.49 as a part of the limited period offer. Customers hailing from Pune and Mumbai can place orders as late as midnight to receive items next day, while for other select zones the cut off time to place an order under this offer is 1500hrs IST.
Under this offer, Amazon India also will not be levying any charges for delivering items in 2-4 business days. Also, there’s no minimum order limit to avail the offer, which was the case earlier. Customers had to place a minimum order for Rs.499 or above to avail free delivery, however charged Rs.49 if lower.

Today, we are excited to introduce the convenience and assurance of Amazon’s One-Day Guaranteed Delivery to customers in India within six months of our launch. We will continue to expand the service to more pin codes and cities, and extend the benefit to even more customers across India”, said Amit Agarwal, Vice President and Country Manager, Amazon India.
Customers can continue to shop on Amazon from books, movies and tv shows, Kindle Devices, Tablets and eBooks, Computers & Accessories, Mobiles & Accessories, Cameras & Photography, Portable Media Players, TV & Home Entertainment, Toys & Games, Baby Products, Personal Care Appliances, Health Care Devices, Watches, Fashion Jewellery, Home and Kitchen and Beauty Products.
However, it excludes ‘large and heavy items’, Amazon will refund shipping charges if it fails to deliver the order within the dead line. As always, customers can avail benefits like Cash on Delivery, delivery tracking to the doorstep, free returns pickup, and free delivery with no minimum value on all orders Fulfilled by Amazon.
Customers can also now shop on Amazon.in through its mobile shopping apps for iPhones, iPads and Android phones. They can use these apps to shop, browse & search for products, view recommendations and customer reviews, add to wish lists and cart and complete the purchase using all of the payment options available on the site and track the status of their orders.
