Amazon India expands online store; gadgets now onboard
Customers can now buy smartphones, accessories, cameras and the Kindle E-reader devices from Amazon.in
Not long after the marketplace went live, Amazon.in has announced that it has added popular gadget categories to the store offering catalogue – smartphones and accessories, cameras and accessories, portable media players as well as the Kindle E-reader device range. With this addition, there are now six categories of products on sale on amazon.in, which include Books, Movies and TV shows.
Amazon, in the note shared with us, says that the new categories will feature a full range of popular products and brands: everything from the latest mobile phones, tablets, digital cameras, camcorders, and MP3 players to lenses, tripods, and headsets, to cases & covers, camera bags, headphones and other accessories from brands like Nokia, HTC, Micromax, Blackberry, Samsung, Sennheiser, Panasonic, Sony, Canon and Nikon among others.
“Customers have been asking us to bring the Amazon experience to electronic products in India. We are very excited to open our marketplace to sellers in these popular categories and offer broad selection, low prices, great convenience, and reliable delivery to shoppers across India,” said Amit Agarwal, Vice President and Country Manager, Amazon India.
There will be around 150 Electronics retailers on board with their products and offers, including Croma, Vijay Sales, UniverCell, Saholic, and J.J. Mehta & Sons. Amazon will fulfill the orders, and Amazon fulfilled orders usually offer cash on delivery and free pickup and returns. As a promotion scheme, Amazon will offer free shipping for all products under the Amazon Fulfilled umbrella, with no minimum order value.
