HIGHLIGHTS

Airtel is reportedly offering 40Mbps plan for Rs 699 per month.

The plan was previously available for Airtel Home Broadband customers.

This new offering is said to be available only when subscribed to for three months.

It’s been some time since Airtel announced its new Xtream Fiber broadband service, but quite recently it rebranded its Airtel Home Broadband services to Airtel Xstream Fiber. The new fiber-based broadband service by the telco has plans starting at Rs 799 with speeds of up to 100Mbps. However, Telecom Talk reports of an Airtel Home Broadband plan, which is apparently still available. Priced at Rs 699 per month, the plan is said to offer 40Mbps speeds, but it is currently not being displayed on Airtel’s website. As per the report, one needs to subscribe for three months to Airtel’s Xtream Fiber service to avail the plan.

The company is also said to be offering unlimited data per month wiṭh the broadband plan, which has a data cap of 3.3TB. With this plan, one will need to pay a total amount of Rs 2,097 but a consumer will reportedly be able to avail a discount of 10 and 15 percent when ṭhey select the same plan for six or 12 months respectively. As mentioned above, this same plan was available for Airtel Home Broadband users for Rs 699 per month but this has now been revised and it is available with three, six or 12 months of subscription.

In addition, the plan is said to come with a free landline connection and a dual-band Wi-Fi router that is capable of handling the 40Mbps bandwidth. There’s also Airtel Thanks benefits like a free subscription to Shaw Academy courses, free access to Wynk Music and Airtel Xstream subscriptions.

While it is not clear where the Rs 699 plan by Airtel is available, the report also mentions of a 16Mbps broadband plan with 75GB FUP. This plan is also apparently available with a minimum of three months of subscription, which is said to cost Rs 1,749. Airtel is offering this plan in select cities where it can’t offer high-speed internet services, the report states.
