We are just a couple of hours away from Apple’s highly awaited Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024. It has been a slow crawl for Apple into the AI space and it is expected that the company will go all out during the event. We might get to see the biggest OS upgrade yet with iOS 18 and a lot more. Now, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has revealed that it could call its AI features Apple Intelligence. Let’s find out.
Artificial Intelligence? No Apple Intelligence!
Well everyone has now accepted the fact and is even expecting that Apple is going to unveil AI features during WWDC 2024. The funny part? 50% of the keynote might talk about AI
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, further revealed that 50% of the keynote presentation will comprise AI. He said AI can be introduced for devices via iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS 15. Apple Intelligence will be a feature that users can opt-in and will initially be available on the iPhone 15 Pro series and newer models, as well as Macs with the M1 chipset or later.
To perform all the AI-based tasks, Apple will use its own AI model and OpenAI’s GPT model. It can perform tasks both locally or via the cloud. It is expected that Apple will emphasise security and data protection.
We might get to see a lot of AI features such as Summarisation, which will condense content from Safari, text messages, notes, and emails. We previously saw this during the Google I/O too.
Let’s wait and see what Apple unveils during the conference. Stay tuned for all the updates from WWDC 2024.
