Affordable wireless on-ear headphones
We all have different tastes when it comes to headphone form factors. Some prefer in-ear monitors (IEMs) that go into your ear canal while others prefer a circumaural ear-cup which barely touches any part of your outer ear. And then there are folks who like their headphones to sit flush on top of their ears. We call these on-ear headphones and you can find them by the dozen. We’ve put together a list of popular on-ear headphones which have unique sound signatures of their own. Take your pick.
Infinity (JBL) Glide 500
The Infinity Glide 500 has a very slim body but don’t let that fool you in any way. It sports a battery life of up to 20 hours when listening to music and up to 13 hours of talktime. It takes 2 hours to charge up the in-built 200 mAh battery and even sports speed (quick) charging for 10 minutes. The Volume buttons (+ and -), when pressed together allow you to switch from one equaliser setting to another making it quite convenient. Most other headphones with multiple audio profiles require that you use an app to switch between the profiles. Also, the Glide 500 supports Siri and Google Assistant.
JBL T460BT
Folks who like their bass to be punchy and deep would prefer headphones such as the JBL T460BT. JBL headphones with enhanced bass follow the JBL Pure Bass sound signature which has garnered its own little fan following. The T460BT is flat-folding so it doesn’t take up much space when you’ve nicely packed it away in your bag and all the controls are on the ear cups. It features 32mm dynamic drivers with an in-built battery that when fully-charged could last up to 11 hours with ease. The JBL T460BT uses Bluetooth 4.0 to connect.

After charging for 4.5 hours, these headphones can provide up to 35 hours of music playback and if you’re running low, a quick charge of 10 minutes will net you an additional 90 minutes of music play time. The ear-cups swivel sideways so they take up very little space when you want to put them away. It uses Bluetooth 5.0 and supports profiles such as A2DP, AVRCP, HFP and HSP.
