Apple is reportedly working on some exciting new products, including a massive foldable iPad, a redesigned Magic Mouse, and an improved version of the AirTag. Here’s everything we know so far, based on Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman’s latest Power On newsletter.

Foldable iPad in the works

Apple’s industrial design team has been testing prototypes of an 18.8-inch foldable iPad that could hit the market around 2028. According to Gurman, these prototypes feature a “nearly invisible crease” and would resemble “two iPad Pros side-by-side.”

Rumours about a foldable iPad have been circulating for years. Earlier reports suggested a smaller foldable iPad could launch as early as 2026 or 2027. Gurman also mentioned that this larger foldable device might combine elements of both Macs and iPads. While it won’t run macOS, it’s expected that iPadOS will evolve to support macOS apps by the time the foldable device launches.

This move could make the foldable iPad more appealing, especially considering the high price tag it might carry. For context, the current 13-inch iPad Pro starts at $1,299. A foldable iPad twice that size would likely cost significantly more, but the ability to run macOS apps could justify the price.

Redesigned Magic Mouse

Apple is also working on a redesigned Magic Mouse, addressing some of the “longstanding complaints” users have had. Gurman noted that the company is planning a “full overhaul” of the accessory to better fit modern needs. However, the updated Magic Mouse isn’t expected to launch until mid-2026 at the earliest, as development is still in progress.

Improved AirTag

An upgraded version of the AirTag is also in development and could be released in 2025. The next model will reportedly include an Ultra Wideband chip similar to the one in the iPhone 15, which would effectively triple its current range. Currently, AirTags have a range of up to 30 meters, but the new chip could expand that significantly.
