Lenovo A8-50 voice-calling tablet launched for Rs 17,490

Lenovo launches the A8-50 8-inch tablet with 3G connectivity and voice calling capabilities.

Lenovo has announced a new mid-range tablet under its A series called the A8-50. The tablet is available on ecommerce site Flipkart for Rs 17,490.

The Lenovo A8-50 tablet has an 8-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution. It has a  1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and runs Android 4.2 upgradable to Android 4.4. It has 16 GB internal memory expandable up to 32GB via micro-SD card support. The Lenovo A8-50 tablet has a 5 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera. It has inbuilt proximity, light, Vibrator, G-Sensor and Accelerometer sensor.

The A8-50 has a single SIM card slot with 3G data connectivity and supports voice calling. It has dual front-facing speakers with Dolby Digital Plus audio technology. Connectivity wise the tablet supports 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, USB and GPS. It has a 4200 mAh battery that according to company claims can deliver up to 11 hours of usage time and up to 20 days of standby time. The A8-50 is available in India in Midnight Blue, White, Flamenco Red, and Canary Yellow colors. Lenovo had launched the A7-50 and A7-30 tablets in India earlier this year under its A series.

Lenovo recently launched the Vibe Z2 Pro with 2K display in India for Rs. 32,999. The smartphone has a 6-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) display and has a quad-core Snapdragon 801 2.5 GHz processor. It has 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The Vibe Z2 Pro has a 16 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front-facing camera. It is backed by a 4,000mAh battery and runs Android 4.4.
