Apple introduced new updates for its iPadOS 17 at WWDC 2023 which aims at enhancing the user experience with interactive widgets, new freeform tools, among others. The WWDC event saw many other announcements in Apple’s lineup and the much-awaited release of the brand’s first ever mixed reality headset.
While iPadOS has been updated with various new features Google’s Android 14 is anticipated to release many more updates for its interface and the UI system at large.
The two operating systems often collide in the market and are prone to compete with their latest features and taking that forward, let’s discuss what weightage the newly announced iPadOS 17 features have on the Tablet Android (currently 13).

iPadOS 17 update has primarily focused on the interface with motion effects for wallpapers, interactive widgets, personalised lock screen option, live activities among others.
While iPadOS 17 is building upon the interface now, Android has always offered custom theme options for the users where they can reflect their preferences in the UI with quick gestures, themed icons and vector fonts. However, there are limitations in interactive widgets.
The newly updated iPadOS 17 provides an extension to the Communication Safety feature wherein the function now holds protections for children and for the adults there is a new function termed Sensitive Content Warning. The users get to be more data centric when sharing their information and ensure that the system has added features to Photos and Calendar permissions.
To fight mercenary spyware the system has now enabled a Lockdown mode. Android on the other hand has been using various data privacy and protected computing tracking for establishing a secure space for its users. With iPadOS 17 developing new branches of tracking we can only expect Android 14 to announce the same features.

iPadOS has a range of new accessibility features along with health app improvements. The system now offers audio transcriptions wherein when the audio is playing it will be transcribed live and similarly, Android has audio descriptions however, they only offer descriptions throughout the apps.
Apart from that, you can also create stickers on iPadOS 17. The system also offers a mental health tracker, menstrual tracker, cycle tracker among others on the device itself. However, Android is restricted to a few of these options.
