Nissan is finally giving a facelift to the Terrano, the first since it was launched in 2013. A total of 22 new features have been added to the SUV, most of which are interior changes. With these changes, Nissan has added a dash of technology to update the Terrano and provide features that will rival other companies in terms of the in-car technology package. Prices for the new Nissan Terrano remain the same as its previous rendition, beginning at Rs. 9.9 lac and going up to Rs. 13.6 lac.

The new infotainment system
The prime talking point of the updates rolled out to the 2017 Nissan Terrano is the new, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The car gets an integrated satellite navigation system with voice and graphic guidance, points of interest and nearest landmarks including fuel stations, something that is steadily becoming a norm in most cars these days.
Alongside this, you will also get standard Bluetooth connectivity for telephony and music playback, which can also be done via USB and aux ports. Like most new infotainment systems, you will get phone controls on the display, and the new, redesigned steering wheel also gets integrated buttons for audio controls and calls.
Interior additions
Other updates to the interiors include a new, black and brown dual-tone shade to create a more upmarket ambience, white backlighting for switches, an armrest for the driver, cruise control and hill climb assist, electronic stability programme (ESP) with ABS and EBD, along with dual-front airbags to increase safety.
Exterior changes
The most notable addition here are the electrically operable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, and LED daytime running lights (DRLs). You also get a Sandstone Brown finish, along with a slightly redesigned bumper that is now more angular, and L-shaped chrome inserts on either side of the central chrome quadrilateral on the front grille. All of these add a slightly more defined look to the Nissan Terrano.
The rest remains the same
For the most part, though, you get the same essence from the new Terrano. The new SUV is still powered by the 1.6L petrol engine that produces 103bhp and is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The diesel engine gets two tunes, one producing 84bhp with 5-speed manual gearbox, and the other producing 108bhp with a choice of 6-speed manual or AMT gearboxes.
You get the same car underpinned with some cosmetic changes, the most notable of which is the central infotainment console that now makes the Terrano smarter than before. The new, facelifted Terrano will be sold commencing today.
