One of the most anticipated games in recent memory has been From Software’s Elden Ring. Developed by the guys behind Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro, Elden Ring is a collaboration with fantasy author George R.R Martin and should deliver the same tough-as-nails gameplay and cryptic yet epic storylines of past From Software titles. The game was announced in 2019, and we still don’t have much info to go by. But, that could be changing as Xbox head, Phil Spencer says that he’s played the game and is thoroughly blown away by it.
In an interview with Gamespot, Spencer said that he’s seen and played quite a bit of the game. He goes on to say, “As somebody who's played all of Miyazaki's games over at least the last decade, this is clearly the most ambitious game that he's done, I mean, I love his games, but seeing some of the gameplay mechanics stuff that he's tackling, he and the team are tackling this time, of the setting, working with another creator in terms of story. I love it” Well, we now know that Elden Rings is on the horizon and anyone who’s a fan of the Soulsborne games should be very, very excited.
For a few of us in the Digit office, Elden Ring is a much more anticipated title than Cyberpunk 2077, and we now have confirmation that the game is under development and is looking to be another sure-fire hit that From Software have on their hands. Also, if you're looking for a next gen experience and are looking at buying an Xbox Series X, you may want to read this first.
