Top multiplatform games on the Xbox One

Exclusive games for each particular console are some of the highest-rated across the board, but that doesn’t mean that multi-platform games aren’t worth your time. Far from it. In fact, some multi-platform games have actually gone and won ‘Game of the year’ from numerous publications. From action-adventure games to strange third-person mysteries, these multi-platform titles are as varied as they are fun to play. So, if you’re tired of playing exclusive games on your Xbox One, check out these multi-platform titles that will definitely be worth your time.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice comes from the studio that gave us the Dark Souls and Bloodborne franchises, so you know it’s going to be a very tough game. But, the fun lies in mastering the controls and your Shinobi abilities to do battle against a vengeful overlord and his demonic minions. The gameplay is fluid but focused, letting you leap around the battleground like demonic money with a katana. The various levels are beautiful to look at with a sense of ancient Japan littered throughout. So, if you’re looking for a game that delivers a true challenge, then Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is the game for you.

Control

Otherworldy threats, clandestine organisations and a conspiracy that threatens to destroy everything we know, Control is an exciting and mysterious third-person action-adventure mystery. Explore creepy environments as you make your way through a giant building, fighting enemies and uncovering more of the story. Even your abilities are somewhat mysterious. Enter a shape-shifting world that has you questioning everything around you as you struggle to take back control of the building that’s been invaded by otherworldly forces. If you like games that have deep and meaningful stories, Control is just up your alley.

Resident Evil 2 Remake

A remake of one of the most celebrated horror games of all time, Resident Evil 2 Remake stands on its own two feet as one of the best games of 2019. This time, the team at Capcom decided to go back to the third-person style of Resident Evil 4 but with tighter and more fluid controls. Play as Leon Kennedy and Clarie Redfield as they navigate their way through masses of the undead all while being chased by an indestructible monster known as Mr X. The gameplay is tight with the shooting taking up the most of your reflexes. The movement has also been refreshed as you can now walk around while aiming your weapon.

Something that was not possible in the earlier Resident Evil games. If nostalgia is what you crave and you want to relive a very scary childhood, then Resident Evil 2 Remake is the game to scare your pants off.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

The travesty of Battlefront 1 and 2 was enough to turn away a lot of fans from the Star Wars video game universe. After the failure of the two major Star Wars games, EA went back to the drawing board and saw that gamers were craving a deep single-player, campaign-based game, set in the wider Star Wars universe. And, they went ahead and gave gamers exactly that. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a third-person action-adventure, hack and slash title with you playing as a lone Jedi, going up against the Empire’s forces. With a host of cool force powers, you’ll make your way through lush forests, deserts and lush jungles as you do battle with dangerous and determined foes. If you’re a Star Wars fan and haven’t played this game as yet, we’d suggest you buy a copy, right away.
